The Black Pearl sails onward through the night, leaving Will Turner floating in her wake.

Once Will's out of sight-- which doesn't take long at all in the darkness-- Jack Sparrow turns away from the railing with a very smug look on his face.

It's there for about two seconds before he spots a staring Henry Wellard.

"... bugger."

"Unless Beckett has ways of getting even the dead to talk."

... Which would not really surprise Wellard, given events.

"But, if Will's able, he'll lead them right to Shipwreck Cove when the whole Brethren Court is there."

Jack grins.

"Funny how that works, innit?"

Wellard blinks, looking at Jack sharply.

"... You want them there?"

"Didn't say that, either. But people have a way of being more likely to do something when a threat's staring them right in the face than when things are all peaceful and friendly-like, wouldn't you agree?"

Jack considers, then comes up beside Wellard and slings an arm around his shoulders. He begins to lead the younger man down the deck, gesturing with his other hand to accent his words as he says,

"Did it ever occur to you, Henry, that I might even know what I'm doing? At least-- sometimes?"

"True." He raises an eyebrow, looking at Jack. "And I'd hope that at least sometimes you knew what you were doing."

Wellard then bites his lip, thinking.

"Everything just seems as its going a million places at once, and we're caught up in the middle with nearly no idea of what's happening."

"Exactly."

Jack grins at him.

"Much more better that way. So long as no one does anything stupid."

He rolls his eyes a bit, but the look Wellard then gives Jack is more reassured than it was before.

"Well then. I usually do my best not to."

"Good to hear, mate."

Jack's still grinning, and looks very wickedly pleased.

"Aye, that's right good to hear."
