Everything in Panama City had gone mostly according to plan, a rare happenstance for the pirates in this motley crew, and the more superstitious among them spent the first few days on board their new vessel debating whether this meant good luck or bad, fair wind or foul.
The Spanish ship they'd stolen isn't large or particularly pleasing to the eye, being in need of some new paint and wood maintenance, but it's seaworthy and swift before the wind, and most importantly, well-stocked for a long voyage.
And a long journey to Singapore it will be.

She's seen this, she knows. It's written in the way her shells fall, the way the waves curl. "But maybe it take more then they think. Sao Feng, he is a fierce man, stubborn, proud."
Tilting her chin up, her eyes flick past Will's face to focus briefly on Barbossa, out of hearing at the wheel.

It rarely occurs to Will that he shouldn't be asking questions.
Re: Above deck
Date: 2007-08-05 04:30 pm (UTC)Details should not concern her--not those of these petty men and their petty wars. She resents the idea that they might; hates further the fact that they must. "Barbossa, he a persuasive man. Ye'll need his silver tongue to get you close to your desire."

Re: Above deck
Date: 2007-08-05 06:04 pm (UTC)"Such a desire." It's like the sigh of the wind through the rigging. "To be loyal, but to who is it? What is it ye want, William Turner? Do ye know?"

To marry her, to save her, (although she doesn't need saving) to have her as his own. He doesn't make it clear.

He just knows his initial fears of Tia Dalma are fading. Into what though, he doesn't know.
He looks back out to sea.
Re: Above deck
Date: 2007-08-05 07:26 pm (UTC)She watches him a moment longer from behind a wild tangle of thick coiling hair. It is not in her way to give such information for free, but who would pay this price? Nothing young William has would be of any use to her.
But she can't have him distracted. He must find the way to the Black Pearl and her wicked captain. "Find the charts of Sao Feng," she says, abruptly. "They will give the way, your path an' ours."
So saying, she releases the railing and turns to go, her skirts brushing against his calf.
